Sustainability at kūpaa

Our sustainability approach focuses on reducing our environmental impact and increasing our social commitments, with a priority on the issues that matter most to our communities, customers, and colleagues. Ultimately, our goal is to leave a positive impact by giving back more than we take.

Sustainable Packaging

Our approach to packaging is not just about aesthetics—it’s a reflection of our commitment to the environment. We believe packaging should be functional, minimalistic in design, and have the smallest possible impact on the planet.

That’s why we’ve eliminated all plastics from our packaging and designed:

  • Our Gen2 packaging box, made from FSC-certified recycled cardboard. Crafted entirely from pre- or post-consumer waste, our boxes use no new virgin materials and are designed to be both recyclable and biodegradable, promoting a sustainable lifecycle.

  • A reusable cotton bag to hold your kūpaa bowl. Durable and versatile, this bag can be used over and over, helping to reduce packaging waste and encourage sustainable living.

Adoption Drive

Our adoption drive is an initiative for our perfectly imperfect bowl & carrier duets. We are letting them go at a reduced price in hope they find a new home. These duets have minor aesthetic flaws due to the handcrafted stages in the creation process. But they are not compromised in terms of functionality and durability.

We have started this initiative in order to reduce waste and give adoptees a second chance at finding a home, fostering a sustainable and compassionate approach. These duets also encourage slow consumption by promoting the idea of cherishing items for their uniqueness and quality rather than their perfection.
